Board of Directors
A Houston native, Kim received her M.ARCH from Rice University. Her first experience with public interest design was as part of the design team for an affordable housing project in post-Katrina Biloxi, MS with Architecture for Humanity. Kim then served as a founding board member for Architecture for Humanity Houston. Kim now works as an architect at Jackson and Ryan Architects and serves as Managing Director of Open Architecture Houston.
Director of Development
Jon's current occupation is Project Manager at a construction project management firm. He began his career studying architecture, and was quickly attracted to the fast pace working with diverse teams as he pursued a career path in project management. Jon's experience ranges from working with large cross-functional teams at Fortune 5 corporations to small sole proprietors, and across various industries including healthcare, oil and gas, technology, construction, non-profit, and public sectors.
Director of Communications
With over 10 years of experience in public health and ecological design focusing on disparities at the intersection of human and environmental health, Kate has worked with non-profits that focus on health & environmental issues. After studying at Yale University, she earned a Master’s degree in ecological design at the Conway School. She currently works as a public health research analyst, and is on the boards of the Blackwood Educational Land Institute and the Blue Yak Foundation.
Director of Projects
Originally from Australia, Adelle studied landscape architecture before moving to Melbourne where she completed a Masters in International Urban & Environmental Management. She has worked as a landscape architect, urban designer, project manager, & office manager. Now based in Houston with her husband, she works at the Community Design Resource Center (CDRC) at the University of Houston, volunteers with Project Row Houses, assists the American Institute of Architecture Houston Chapter, edit articles on Architecture in Development.
Director of Design
Michael Garman is both the mind and hands behind the boutique design firm Garman Furniture. He creates each prototype in his studio outside of Houston Texas– believing that “Furniture should be lived with and interacted with,” he says. Garman honed his artistic eye while earning degrees in fine art and architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. His work pays homage to basic geometric shapes, seamless surfaces and clean finishes. Each design is hand crafted by using natural woods and materials that are low in formaldehyde and VOC. Garman’s first furniture design, Bnch, was recognized as “Best Prototype” at the 2009 Interior Design Show in Toronto.
Director of Operations
Gina grew up half on the west coast and half on the east coast. She graduated from architecture school at Norwich University and now lives and works on my her US coast at a healthcare architecture firm. Her goal is to get licensed and pursue humanitarian architecture projects. Apart from architecture, she loves to tinker around and make things. She plays the violin, ukulele, and guitar and she loves to explore new cities and the great outdoors. She has a 15lb cat, sometimes dream about Italian food, and loses all cognitive function around cute dogs.
Director of Membership
Blake Coleman has been a member of TBG Partners since 2006, starting in San Antonio then in Houston, contributing to the creation of master-planned communities, parks, corporate campuses and other distinguished projects for the past decade. Blake has completed project management and design responsibilities from the schematic design level through construction observation and he is also actively involved with several professional organizations like ULI Houston, for which Blake serves as Program Chair for the Management Committee.
